I’ve been married since 1990 to an amazing wife, Kimberly. We have two sons, Nick & Josh, that teach us daily about love, compassion and the heart of our Abba.
We decided some years back to quit warming our hands by the fire and instead jump in and get forever changed.
I spent 18 years in the corporate world playing the game no one can win. I am thankful for the time, the things I learned and the people I met and still have relationships with.
We were part of a traditional denominational church for many years where we grew and learned what it meant, or so I thought, to be a pastor. We met and made relationships with many people who are still in our life today.
In 2002 we left to start and be a part of a house church network. We were doing it “right” this time. Ha. That was one of the most beautiful and painful seasons in my life during which our learning curve was almost vertical. And again we met and made relationships with many people who are still in our life.
I’m coming to believe that church is simply these relationships…the brother’s and sister’s we come in contact with as we journey on with and towards Jesus. Sure some are closer than others, some are separated by thousands of miles of dirt or hundreds of years of time, some are only in your life for a short time but it’s the church. Sometimes, often times, she can be pretty hard to see. Ya have to strip away a lot of the stuff to see her but she is there and she is beautiful even if not yet mature.
Church is people simply living life together in Him.
Enjoyed your blog of Sept.19. Would love to hear more about it. I am so proud of you and your family. God is Good!
